Pastor Patricia Mitchell

After graduating with a Master’s of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, IN, I was ordained in the United Church of Christ. As a pastor I am passionate about a church environment that is doing God's work in the world—especially in light of Matthew 25:40: “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”

I am passionate about social justice issues through outreach to the local community and beyond: eradicating poverty, food insecurity, and houselessness; eliminating violence, protecting the planet, equity for all human beings, and acceptance and inclusion of every person, especially those in our LGBTQIA+ communities. I am a hands-on pastor who seeks to actively and collaboratively serve those who are in need.

My pastoral gifts are in providing care and compassion to all people who wish to feel the presence of the Holy One, whether by phone, email, in-person, or via text. I love to hear about people’s lives, and get to know them as individuals, not just people who attend worship!

Designing worship services that flow from prelude to postlude enlivening all one’s senses is a true passion. I love to bring music and poetry, meditation and reflection together to creatively express the power and presence of the Divine and find guidance for living in today’s world as a follower of Jesus.
